fall meeting 2011
August 10, 2011
Dear Island Lake Property Owners,
The Island Lake Property Owners Association will hold their fall meeting on Saturday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rose City, The directors will meet at 9:30 a.m.
Our 2012 Membership dues of $20.00 are due on or before October 1st. You can pay your dues at this meeting or by sending them to our treasurer at 7187 N. Portsmouth Rd. Saginaw, MI 48601
We have several new families with homes on the lake. This will be a good time for all of our members to invite their new neighbors to attend this meeting. We welcome all property owners from around the lake.
The 14th annual 4th of July boat parade was another great success thanks to Clare Hulett. The parade is a source of pride for lake residents and a lot of fun for those involved.
Once again, we are proud of our family of swans this year. Mother, father and their three babies are all doing ‘swimmingly’.
For the ladies, there will be a luncheon held on Thursday, September 8th at Los Cuatro Amigos Restaurant on N. US 23 in East Tawas. Call Judy Sederlund at 989-685-2804 or Dawn Hartel at 989-685-8771 to R.S.V.P. if you plan to attend.
Don’t forget the second Island Lake Arts and Craft Show at the corner of Oak and Dyer Roads on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4.
This has been an extremely warm summer. I hope this hasn’t kept you from enjoying your place on the lake this year.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting on Saturday, September 3.
Sincerely, Larry Sills

There is a beaver!
A friend and I were up at our cabin the last weekend in April and saw a large wake on the lake. He said "look a beaver" and I told him there were a number of muskrats living in the area. As we watched the animal came out of the water and sat on a log. It was a beaver! We looked at it through binoculars and confirmed our sighting.

2011 spring meeting
April 13, 2011
Dear Island Lake Property Owners,
The annual spring meeting of the Island Lake Property Owners Association will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 125 W. Main Street, Rose City. Our meeting will last approximately one hour or less.
The directors will meet at 9:30 a.m.
This notice is being sent to all Island Lake property owners in an effort to keep everyone informed about the issues around the lake. The purpose of the association is to help improve our living experience on the lake, and also bring the residents closer together.
We have met with representatives from Frontier, our new phone company. They plan on attending the meeting to find out what it will take to get DSL to Island Lake. We have also invited the area fire chief to explain the importance of keeping the easements clear.
This meeting is our way of kicking off another great summer at Island Lake, and we hope to see all of you there.
Sincerely,
Larry Sills, President
